Injustice!

Injustice is common these days.Injustice takes place in every form from cheating to favouring,etc etc.! Injustice takes place with people who are sincere and want to achieve something in life and give back something to the society.
As a master degree student,I am supposed to submit a dissertation for partial fulfilment of masters.I wanted to do something worth while and not something just for the sake of it and then throw it in a corner.I chose one of the lesser known palaces of Mysore for my thesis. Well,as one knows,all these are under the govt now. I have to photograph this museum and highlight the negatives and postives in the thesis.Well,my HOD's letter was not enough for these people sitting in the museum and asked for a letter from the Mysore University.Agreed,alright, they have their restrictions.
FIrst-The University has been making me run around from the past 2 weeks for a signature from the registrar on the letter. And on top of that one of the officials there had the cheek to speak like one of those typical employees and said '' It takes time.This is a govt institution.''!The registar is on a holiday,so i suffer,he is busy so I have to wait for days for a 2 second job.
Second-Now the people in the museum are putting their foot down and saying,''you can take only 10 pics,not more than that''! Dude,give me a break I am not here as a tourist,I am here as a Museologist,a student of museum studies and I M DOING MY THESIS.Not come for a leisure trip! And when I asked for a book on the royal family,one of them says ''Ask Shikantadatta Wodeyar'' and I told her I have no link to the family,she says ''Use influence ma,nothing works without influence''! What crap.
To make these museum people have faith,I also told them that I will sign a letter that action can be taken against me if I use these pics for commercial purpose and also that I will be submitting a copy of the thesis.But no,they give the same lethargic replies!
To top it all,if I do a thesis on this palace,there will be a proper literature for these people.The museum will get popularised,but nope! They will not do anything for the museum and neither will they allow other people to do so!
This is the reason for all the things that happen around us and we have to use ''INFLUENCE'' for everything or wait and wait !! Unless and until our system changes nothing can happen or progress,they will disuade people who are genuinely interested in doing something for the society!

CeLeBratiONs!

The word celebration means so many different things to so many people.Celebration touches all sections of people everyday.There is a celebration in every corner of the world everyday.By celebrations,I dont mean ''a wedding'' or a ''b'day party'' .For teenager in love,listening to the voice of the other person is a celebration and on the other hand for a downtrodden person,eating food is a celebration.Let a child wrap up it's little palm in your tiny finger.You will feel the celebration of someone loving you so innocently :)
For a hostelite,a re-union with family and old friends is a celebration,waiting for years for a loved one is a celebration itself with so many imaginations,tears and so many dreams in your mind! Getting a pat from your dad,words of appreciation from a person who means a lot to you are also celebrations by themselves.
In school I read this fairy tale(don't remember which one),where these mermaids scoffed at the earthly beings for not being able to celebrate death!!
For an artist,the joy of colours dropping on to the canvas is a celebration. Watch the colours in nature and you will realise nature is celebrating everyday in her own way.Nature gives Colours of love,pride,joy,satisfaction,mellowness and the list goes on.All the colours celebrate together. Wouldn't you find something missing if you dont find photograph of someone you love on your table,your day incomplete without building castles in the air?! Where would you go if you get up to find the sky missing above your head one day? So celebrate,celebrate the reason you are here,appreciate,love things around you and above all find time for your loved ones in this fast world.Celebrate the feeling of being there for them,of wiping off their tears,of jumping in joy with them and of loving them!! adios!

What's cooking?!

What's cooking?! Well,stuffed capsicum just got cooked in my kitchen! Cooking is something which gives one a lot of pleasure if done at leisure and not as a compulsion on a regular basis! Well,this was my first try at something '' restrauntly exotic kinda dish'' and must say it turned out quite good! Dad ate it with relish and he is a crictic when it comes to cooking! Yeah well,happy that I can feed people! This made me remember an incident long back,when I tried my hand at cooking for the first time ,when Dad and I were left alone and were left with no choice but put at mercy with my cooking.Tried making something new for poor dad and that ''new thing'' was chitranna.. I kept adding Haldi powder to get that ''fresh yellow colour that mom makes'' and to a disastrous end to the dish, I realised to my horror that the dish got its yellow colour when lemon juice was added to it! :D well,that day and today,must give a pat on my back for improving so much!! Planning to give mom a rest on this coming Sunday and planning a menu..:-) All the best to me .Here is a pic of the dish that I cooked and hope it makes your mouth water!!
P.S-The one without the topping(which is of cheese) is dad's cos he hates cheese !

namma mysuru

Hey guys,
Been a long time since I wrote a blog and what a better way to come back to the writing zone than to write about NAMMA MYSURU,MAHISHURU(as said by Sheetal) or NANNA MYSURU !!
A month back,I came back home and it was like heaven.I felt like the colours,the shades,the weather all splashing on me so generously, like it has been since the past 21 years of my life inexhaustively. But today,I felt Mysore is losing its charm. The charm,which is like a beautiful woman's natural beauty,her skin,her personality,is wearing off and wrinkles are seen with too many modifications,alterations,experiments and the list goes on..If you are close to a guess,then yes,I am talking about the greenery of Mysore.
I have literally lived my life in all parts of Mysore-be it the gallees,the market,palace,lakes,betta,the art hub(rangayana),the posh areas,the happening roads for the teenagers..well ''almost everything'' if not everything! I experienced these roads in an auto as a school kid,in the city bus and finally on the scooty as a college girl!
Today the city does not feel the same,it does not blow its cool breeze on the cheeks of a girl who wants to enjoy the roads.A lot of residencial and commercial complexes have come up in the city-partly a result of the IT crowd flowing in and partly because a lot of people feel like settling down in the palace city. Agreed, layouts have to be made, raods have to be chalked out for spreading of the traffic.But does that mean we spoil the beautiful roads of Mysore? Is cutting off trees the best solution? Those ancient trees which give a lot of life to the city,which gives it that peaceful charm,which gives memories,which hugs the people in its warm huge arms be cut off??!! Not done and not fair!! I am not writing this to support any of the NGOs or any of the dharnas-no,no absolute influence-But yes,I am voicing my heart which is crying for the city along with the hundreds who want the city to regain its charm! !
For all those heartless people out there,STOP WHAT U ARE DOING TO MY MYSORE,NANNA MYSURU,NAMMA MYSURU! It has cherished,nourished and looked after your needs all these years and its time you give back your city against your needs,your selfishness!! ITS YOUR CITY,NIMMA MYSURU TOO!!

Shades...

Shades..This is the thought that came into my mind when i was thinking about a friend today.Infact,today another friend of mine and me were having a talk on life in Baroda and the days that have passed by.
I have a friend here,whose name i wouldn't mention.He is this friendly,very helping,funny and a very intelligent person.An intellectual in a very wierd way.A very chirpy guy,observant and can cheer up anyone around with his eyes popping out suddenly when he gets a glint of naughtiness about him.Yet another part of him can get on u sometimes,the way he asks questions or comments suddenly can maybe just piss you off.Very intelligent,he is a ''know all'' of the friends that i have here!! Best part is he himself admits he is a major self obsessed guy! There is a lot about this guy,which one cannot just write,he is the you have meet to believe types!
It was when i was thinking about this guy when i suddenly realised how people are made differently,each one having a secret soul in himself, something that is not revealed to the outer world. Suddenly,I just felt,people around move with masks,they are like these mime characters,who can express themselves in the most wierdest of ways,the smiles can speak a lot of things,the blank expressions too makes u wonder,what is the other person thinking!A lot of unsaid things get conveyed to one easily with a person's body language.
Just imagine,there are about a million people in this world with so many shades in them.!! I don't know as to why I m writing this article,but this thought of ''shades in a person'' has been going on inside my head for quite sometime,though i must admit that this article isn't doing complete justice to it.For the first time in my life,I feel I do not have enough words to express these.!!!
Well,feeling good that I got it out of my head now..!! Have to keep reminding myself that I have an exam day after tomorrow,something for which i absolutely don't have moods for studying!! Well,I dont intend to sit in the same class again,so here i sign off!! Adios!
