Well,as the title suggests,its all about art,art and art !!After passing my 10th standard when i chose this stream people were very curious and shocked with my choice of field..With various fingers pointing at me and a dream in my head,I plunged my hand into it about 7 years back.
With the experience of five years of studying art i realised art is just not about fantasies,dreams and a glamorous life,its about work and its hard work!! Hard work,not just in painting or showing your expressions on a piece of paper,also hard work in advertising yourself,its about creating an aura around your works..hard work on expressing your thoughts not just on canvas,but also in words...Though the words should not overtake the canvas(too confusing,isn't it?!)
In the past two years there have been relatives and friends who have wanted to join the field and let me tell u,as much fun art is, u should feel the same amount of fun advertising your works(positive preferably), waiting patiently,have fun in taking criticism on the face...this field is not for the weak soul!
There is a very thin line between art,skill,medium and expression. There are no perfect ingredients to become a success iWell,as the title suggests,its all about art,art and art !! yourself,its about creating an aura around your works..hard work on expressing your thoughts not just on canvas,but also in words...Though the words should not overtake the canvas(too confusing,isn't it?!)
There are a lot of things which help u go a long way in the field,but definitely one thing that would help is your capacity to think beyond what others think!! Capacity to fall down,capacity to laugh at your own sketches ..!!
Art is not just about splashing different colours on the canvas,its about splashing colours differently(Do not take the literal meaning of the sentence)! A child is a best artist and best form of a critic..i am not going to talk about the innocence and the normal thing people would talk about a child,but the observation capacity, his disability of not being able to express himself in words clearly makes him all the more a perfect artist! Ever observed the way a child expresses his words through actions??What is it if it is not an amateur form of a MIME??! Observe a child's scribbling..You will see how he expresses his world with just a pencil and a paper!! Ever observed how he will draw a girl's head and a boy's head frm the back?? if u have not,then ask a 5 year old kid to do so and observe what it is that makes him an observer!!
What i mean to say is you need not have a huge canvas and a big box of colours to become an artist,you can have just a pencil and paper and see what wonders you can do with this..
You know when the best art comes out from within a person? It is when you sit day dreaming in class,scribbling in your notebook when the lecturers go about with their long endless lessons!!
Today art is diversified in various directions,be it
photography,installation,painting,drama,video interactions, and the list goes on..You have to find what best way you can express yourself!!Choose your road,your meduim of transport and how you reach your destination...The only thing you cannot predict is the time you will take to reach your goal!!
And yes,one more thing i really wanted to say in this post was,just because a hundred criticise your work and one person likes it doesn't mean your bad,but u have to be happy with the fact that you have just crossed one hurdle by making one person understand what your work is! ! And yes definitely,for all the artists of the present generation like us,we are lucky that art is given a status now and people consider having a piece of art in their homes a prestige.
If you want me to put it across in a layman's words then i would say art is like bhelpuri a little spicy,little sour,a little sweetish!! Find your way of mixing ur thoughts,your colours,your words and you will make a success!!
Patience is the key,your medium of expression is the lock and your thoughts is the door!! its left upto u how long you take to open the door successfully!

well this gal surely knows how to write! and a lot of thought must have gone to write stuff which we lay man cannot understand & only artists can. you surely are a thinker. you've given examples of how there's art in every part of life....way to go girl!
